Bob Tomlins, FEMA´s Assistant General Secretary, received the Motorcycle Riders Foundation´s Life Membership. This work is done by Bob as a representative
for an international coalition. This coalition is formed by: the American
Motorcyclist Association (AMA), the Motorcycle Riders' Foundation (MRF), the
Federation of European Motorcyclists' Associations (FEMA) and the Fédération
Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). The objective of this coalition is
ensuring an efficient representation of motorcyclists at the United Nations
where Worldwide Standards for Bikes and road safety measures are developed. Bob
has been the representative for the coalition from the start of the
international co-operation.
FEMA is very proud and feels privileged having one of its officers granted the
honour of Life Membership by a very valuable partner in the international
co-operation.
The Life Membership was granted at MRF´s national conference, the Meeting Of The
Minds in North Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, last September. Both Bob Tomlins and
FEMA President Kees Meijer attended the conference.
Earlier that year Kirk ´Hardtail´ Willard had joined the FEMA meeting in
Denmark. The purpose of this visits is to exchange views and stay in close
contact on executive level, but also to enable all members and visitors present
at a meeting to experience the views from the other organisation first hand.
Exchanges like this have proven to be very valuable over the years and
contribute to the basis of international co-operation.
