Amidst widespread concern over the European Commission’s proposals for an EU-wide Super-MoT, MAG attended a meeting yesterday hosted by the Roads Minister Stephen Hammond MP with his officials from the Department for Transport.

We've just heard that the French interior Minister Emmanuel Valls has decided to withdraw the 150 square centimetre hi-viz rule.

With new licensing categories coming in to force on 19th January 2013, the rules change on what the power/cc/ weight the bikes have to be for candidates to take their practical test to enter each new category.

Wide-ranging new rules on the design of motorcycles will start to bite from 2016 after European Parliament voted to accept them - without any evidence to justify some critical changes and with most MEPs unable to read the proposals in their own language until 24 hours before the vote.
 
19-11-12 Motorcyclists gain limited access to bus lanes in Brighton and Hove
After a great campaign by Brighton MAG, Brighton & Hove City Council has given the go-ahead to a limited trial allowing access – for powered two-wheeled vehicles (PTWs) – to two and a half miles of Brighton and Hove bus lanes (notably a stretch of the A23 from Carden Avenue to Preston Drove, Brighton, and a section of the A259 coastal road).
 
14-11-12 DSA close another test facility- for 'health and safety reasons'
The DSA have closed the Mod 1 test site in Hastings. This site was known as a 'casual' site, or one of the fillers used in an attempt to provide test access to more parts of the country, after their 2009 decision to close all the venues where novices previously had an opportunity to take their test.

"The Manx Grand Prix has been saved! The 90th Anniversary of the Manx will be 17th to 30th August 2013, and best of all it is now a full International meeting for the first time in its long history. Run in conjunction with the Isle of Man Festival of Motorcycling including the Classic TT, the Manx Grand Prix is going to be something not to be missed!
 
08-11-12 Fergus O'Connell RIP
It is with huge regret that we have to announce the passing of Fergus O'Connell, a MAG stalwart and great friend to thousands.
