MAG corporate member H-C Travel is looking for volunteers! They’ve been running othe Roof of the World tour from Kathmandu (Nepal) to Lhasa (Tibet) for 10 years now, and are looking for adventurous riders to join them on a recce trip along the newly opened Silk Road.
Starting in Lhasa, the 18-day tour will head for Everest Base Camp (mainly on the Friendship Highway), and then continue west on the Silk Road, past the Tibetan Lakes, to the regional capital of Kashi in western Xinjiang, an ancient crossroads and famous for its bazaar. We plan to run a mix of bikes, including Royal Enfields, Chinese bikes and possibly KTMs. The itinerary is not fixed, the accommodation can be pretty poor (just read any reviews of Rongbuk!), and some of their usual level of organisation may be absent. Price is expected to be around £3500-£4000 per person, plus UK - Beijing return flights. So, they’re looking for adventurous spirits who are seeking a unique experience and like a challenge.
