Chandlers BMW in Brighton host the first Riders Are Voters (RAV) event of 2011

Last night’s event, organised by the local MAG group, was a lively evening and questions ranged from the motorcycle parking issues in Brighton, to the motorcycle test situation and MAG’s new GET A GRIP Campaign for consistent road surfaces.

Paddy Tyson, MAG’s Campaigns Manager made a short presentation on GET A GRIP which is highlighting modern non-slip manhole covers and non-slip overbanding, which, with the help of every rider in the country, may soon be fitted everywhere.

There is a petition on www.getagripuk.org which MAG is asking all riders to sign, and there is also a ‘report it’ facility if riders know of a particularly dangerous/worn/sited manhole cover that they have to contend with every day.
It was a great evening and a sign of things to come, as the Brighton area gears up for local elections in May. The local elections affect everything to do with transport policy now, and the local MAG group, in association with Chandlers, will be hosting a Question Time event before the election, so that riders have a chance to ask questions of all the political parties, because www.ridersarevoters.org(RAV)

MAG would like to thank Chandlers BMW in Portslade, Brighton, for hosting this, the first RAV event of 2011.

The Manager of Chandlers BMW, Emmet Reidy was so impressed by the campaigning work MAG does for all riders, he became a member and decided that Chandlers should also become corporate supporters.

The Local Brighton MAG group meet at The Royal Coach, Brighton Rd, Shoreham from 7.30pm on 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. Whatever you ride, pop along and say hi, or call Chris for details 07780 704357
