MAG’s petrol engine poll: one week to go

MAG petrol engine poll

The Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) poll of UK motorcyclists to gauge opinions on the use of petrol-powered motorcycles remains open.  All responses received by 5.00 pm on 20th April will be counted.

The short survey takes just three minutes to complete and has received around 4,000 responses in its first week.  Launched on 6th April the poll has attracted a great amount of interest and discussion.

MAG’s Chair, Selina Lavender, said:

“I am delighted by the response so far.  We received more responses to this survey than any of our previous surveys within 24 hours of its release.  The subject matter is clearly close to the hearts of many riders, whether MAG members or not.  The responses are flooding in from both members and non-members, so there will be no question that we are listening to the interests of all riders, not just those who are directly part of MAG.”

As well as survey responses MAG has received a great many direct communications from riders wanting to give more detailed answers.  Selina said:

“Our purpose with this survey is to gauge overall feeling rather than to debate the finer nuances. There may well be further surveys that go into subjects in more detail. We don’t have the resources to do it all at once, or to a level of detail that will satisfy everyone, but the result of the survey will be an indicator of where to go next. All responses are important to us.  MAG is a democratic organisation and debate of these important issues is central to what we do and how we decide our campaigning priorities.  Our members get to vote on MAG’s policy positions, but they don’t exercise their vote in a vacuum.  Our members are part of the wider motorcycling community, and membership is open to all.”

There is still time to complete the survey which can be found at: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/S5PCWSY

The poll closes at 5pm on Tuesday 20th April 2021.
