Meet the Motorcycle Action Group at BikeSafe

The Motorcycle Action Group (MAG), the UK’s leading voice for riders’ rights, will be at this year’s BikeSafe 2016 show on Saturday 16th July, from 10am till 5pm. This hugely popular event is being held this year at Rockingham Circuit, Mitchell Road, Corby, Northants (NN17 5AF).

The organisers say ‘the National BikeSafe show is a celebration of motorcycling. It’s a fun and exciting day out for the whole family.’ BikeSafe, which is supported by the police, aims to reduce the number of bikers being hurt on the roads.  MAG Chair Selina Lavender enthusiastically endorses the event: ‘BikeSafe gives riders the option to improve their skills, knowledge and hazard awareness which in turn leads to more confident riding when out on the roads. If you are confident you will enjoy your ride more.’

Rockingham Circuit, in the heart of Northamptonshire, is in one of the most ‘bike friendly’ counties in the United Kingdom. Selina observes, ‘MAG has been immensely impressed with Northamptonshire Council’s pro-biking policies.  They see the environmental, economic and commuting benefits of two wheelers, and so it’s fitting that this year’s BikeSafe show is here. The council is encouraging a shift from four wheels to two, and BikeSafe cares about doing this safely. MAG, is delighted to be involved with this positive promotion of all things two wheeled. Do come to the MAG stand to say hello and talk about any of our campaigns or your concerns.’

MAG has been a part of BikeSafe since it was first established, and this show represents one of the best value days out in the country, with entry at just £1 per person and free entry to anyone under 14 years old.  Parking is also free.

Entertainment includes demo bikes supplied by the big names from the Motorcycle industry, trade stands, live music, the ‘Get On Arena’, fairground attractions, stunt shows and the BikeSafe team. Police riders from across the UK also provide free ride outs. Take your own bike or one of the fleetbikes generously provided by the manufacturers. This show is definitely one to get to on 16th July.
