Moray Motor Cycle Test Centre Action Group

The DSA plans to create Multi Purpose Test Centres at the loss of existing local facilities, in particular they plan to close the Elgin Motorcycle Test Centre in Moray, Scotland.

We plan to save the facility – With your help!

The Action Group has been formed to draw public attention to the closure of many Motor Cycle Testing Facilities in the UK, not just our own here in Elgin.

The plans to create multi purpose centres, whilst great news for large cities do not support the needs of more rural locations.

We held a demonstration rally back in August 2007 with over 260 bikes taking part.

Our local MP Angus Roberston even took up the challenge from Tom Harris, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport, and got on a motorbike as a pillion rider on the event.

On the 12th of April 2008 we will mount a much larger demonstration to again show the levels of concern amongst bikers, car drivers and the general public at the loss of these vital facilities.

Join in on the 12th April 2008, we will have bikers of all ages and bikes of all sizes, trikes too! and vital support from Learner Car instructors with their vehicles too.

So all are welcome on the day.

There will be camping, catering, evening entertainment and bar available at Inchberry Hall – The Rally Campsite

If you cant make it on the day, or you live in another part of the UK why not drop a letter to your own Member of Parliament suggesting that they review immediately the closures of these vital centres.

Or drop a line to the Head of the Driving Standards Agency, the more people who make their voice heard the better for all future generations of road users.
