Salisbury Spring Surprise Motorcycle Show confirmed for April 30th 2017

MAG has confirmed that the Salisbury Surprise Motorcycle Show WILL go ahead on 30th April, following intense negotiations with potential funders and the Local Authority.

Lead organiser, Finbar Colson, said ‘we’ve now formalised the arrangements for our show on the 30th of April. It has been a tough ride so far, with Wiltshire Council agreeing to our event only if several protocols were put in place, including more stewards, more “first responders” and better signage around the town centre. With this in mind Salisbury MAG took the painful decision to cancel the show. However, within 24 hours we had two offers of sponsorship from major supporters of last year’s show, which has enabled us to continue with the event!

We can also offer closer “motorcycle-only” parking facilities, which will be great.’
The event will follow its normal format, officially starting at 12 noon.  As the squares are likely to fill up very quickly, the advice is to get there early if you don’t want to be disappointed.  Please don’t arrive before 11 am as we need time to set up, but any time after that is fine.

Judging in the competitions will take place from noon to 2.30 pm and the awards ceremony normally takes place at 3 pm. The judges are sourced from the local professional motorcycle community, from classic specialists to builders of radical customs. They will decide which bikes win each class.

Finbar adds ‘please look out for stewards and follow their instructions; they are all volunteers and without them there could be no show! More stewards are needed right now, so if you would like to be part of this great event and volunteer your services please get in contact with Salisbury MAG.’
