We are pleased to welcome Continental Tyres as Corporate Members of MAG

Founded in 1871, the German company Continental has built a strong reputation in rubber and tyre manufacturing and is now recognised as a leading player in the performance tyre market.

Behind the scenes lies an absolute giant of an organisation with activity covering many different aspects of the automotive industry. Working closely with vehicle manufacturers, Conti are deeply involved in rubber components, plastics, instrumentation, electronics, infotainment, power-train and chassis components, suspension and brake systems to name but a few.

They have developed an outstanding understanding of modern tyre requirements and their increasing sales reflect that.

Since the first motorcycle tyre production around 1904, Continental has consistently delivered quality products which matched the needs of motorcycles over the years. More recently, fuelled by a passion for success in every arena of the market a major acceleration has been witnessed. From its original manufacturing base at Korbach in Germany, the global development of manufacturing and sales has now spread globally. Continental has a full motorcycle product range now from dirt to race, which meets the requirement of a fast moving and changing market place. The European demand continues to be dominated by the need for the highest technology and Continental are well placed to satisfy this with huge investment in bespoke manufacturing techniques.

The fact that several motorcycle manufacturers choose to fit Continental as standard equipment is a strong reward for the effort that goes on behind the scenes. We look forward to two major releases next year which will run on Conti Trail Attack 2; the BMW 1200GS, where Continental has a share of the OEM, and the new KTM 1190 Adventurer where Continental has achieved 100% of the OEM.

Throughout 2012 Continental have also accelerated activity in the UK. The Continental Road Show has had a busy year, attending a variety of motorcycle and scooter events around the country and 2013 promises more as they do their best to attend local MAG events too. Continental UK brand manager Graham Matcham believes “there is nothing better than talking directly to the user of the product”

Such are the recent successes, Continental can claim to be the “Fastest Growing Two Wheel brand in the UK.”

Continental are aware of issues concerning the use and enjoyment of motorcycles for the future. They are therefore pleased to support the Motorcycle Action Group through its corporate membership and look forward to meeting MAG members as often as possible to offer tyre advice and a free of charge “Tyre Health Check.”
